OTCC Assemblage 2010.01.27

1. Alan FIREWEED 400 RIDE 2010: anyone want to do this midsummer ride as a relay? Talk to Alan.
2. Garrett BIKE POLO: hardcourt polo starting Thursday, 28 January. Meet at the Shop at 7pm, then roll downtown to a parking garage. No special equipment needed. Extra bikes are available. Will this be a regular event?
3. Garrett BIKE BRUNCH: This Sunday (or Saturday? now I forget...), 31 January, 9am @ Garrett's house. Bring ingredients if possible. 1045 W 20th (near Arctic Blvd).
4. Garret FRAME BUILDING CLASS: Garrett wants to get this going. It's been on the back burner for a while. Garrett will get information regarding instructor, who is already available, etc. from Jason
5. Lindsay SCREEN PRINTING: At some point, a donor provided a 4-color screen press for the Club. It ended up at Dane Kentner's parents' garage. Does OTCC want to try to get it (back)? This will require $200. No vote taken, but the general sense of the assemblage was YES. Lindsay will talk to Dane.
6. Lindsay STICKERS: to attach to bikes from OTCC and maybe for sale. Does OTCC want to have these made? No vote taken, but general sense of the assemblage was YES. Lindsay has checked some local prices: it may be rather inexpensive. Can we work out a barter instead (build community)?
7. Garrett SHOP SPACE: what are the plans for the Shop space? We'll talk about this next week or the following.
8. Lindsay INTERNET: Can we afford it in the Shop? Clearwire? Expensive business connection required? We could use a report from the Treasurer for this and many topics.
9. Evan BCG MTN VIEW SATURDAY: Evan invites everyone to come with him to Open Time at Boys & Girls Club, 315 Price Street, in Mountain View neighborhood. This transpires this Saturday and every alternate Saturday, 1-4pm. We fix up bikes with kids or bring your own activity.
10. Josh & Garrett MIDNIGHT MYSTERY RIDE: It's coming soon! A fun winter bicycle ride with a fun activity. Likely to transpire in February.
11. Jordan -assemblage FOOD: Hurray! Jordan conveyed delicious food as we had hoped. He can continue to do this. He is keeping receipts. Alan also conveyed delicious refreshments to the assemblage.
12. Spencer VELECIPEDIA RADIO SHOW: Sundays, 1-2pm, KRUA 88.1 FM. Looking for bike related topics.
13. Everyone ANCHORAGE BIKE PLAN SUPPORT: Contact the Anchorage Assembly in support of the plan. Can / should OTCC publicly support this and remain apolitical? Only 3-4 assemblage members admitted to have already contacted the Assembly. See related postings on this Forum
14. Spencer MARCH 6 BCA EVENT: Bicycle Commuters of Anchorage Event @ BP Energy Center, New Seward & Benson. Speaker: dude who rode to Nome on a 6-wheel bike he built. Also: Fat Bike Movie, as shown at the recent film festival.
15. Jason OPEN HOUSE: Next assemblage is Open House, as is every first assemblage of the month. Bring new people! |
